Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is challenging, it is a rewarding way to build your confidence. Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies.

What do I need to start?
You must already have the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another training organization) and be 15 years old (12 for Junior Rescue Diver).
You must also have completed a sanctioned course in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR-Primary Care) and basic first aid (secondary care) within the last 2 years.
The Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid) courses are highly recommended and can be used to meet these requirements.
What will I do?

Self-rescue and diver stress
Emergency management and equipment
Panicked diver response
In-water rescue breathing protocols
Egress (exits)
Dive accident scenarios
During the course you will attend a couple of theory development sessions to reinforce the home-study completed prior to the course.
You will also take part in 10 open water skill development components, each specific to a particular rescue situation.
Following this you and your classmates will take roles in 4 open water rescue scenarios where you will apply the skills you have developed to solve realistic problems on and under the water.
