Open Water Diver Course -
(And Scuba Diver Course) Commencing every five
weeks
Now is the time to dive into the PADI Open Water Diver
course, the most popular dive program in the world! This
is your ticket to a lifetime of intense adventure.
Courses commencing 3rd September, 8th October, 12th November.
Advanced
Open Water Course
- 7th
& 14th September, 18th & 19th October
After the five dives of
this course, you'll be more experienced, feel more comfortable in
the water and simply enjoy diving more because you better understand
the underwater environment.
This course introduces
you to diving beyond the open water level – up to a maximum of 30m.
It improves your navigation skills to increase your awareness of
your surroundings and enhances your dive planning and buddy diving
skills.
This course will be split
between Dosthill Quarry & Stoney Cove (you may also elect to include
a Night Dive as part of this course).
Peak Performance
Buoyancy Specialty
-
14th September, 19th October
Great for anyone who wishes to fine tune their
buoyancy, particularly good for those who have recently qualified.
During this course we will look at not only fine
tuning your buoyancy control, but also proper weighting guidelines
and correcting 'trim' in the water. This allows the diver to
gain greater control, improves co-ordination and awareness of their
surroundings.
Above all, it will increase your confidence in
the water.
Usually great fun too!!
Deep
Diver Specialty
- 27th
& 28th September
Are you covered by your insurance
company should you stray beyond the 30m level while diving on
holiday?
Without deep diver training most
insurance companies will only cover you up to the level of your
advanced open water diver depth limitation of 30m. As many of the
dives conducted in resorts around the world exceed this depth, it is
a good idea to get Deep Diver certification.
The Deep Diver Specialty course offers you the opportunity to venture
further underwater to see thing others can only dream about.
You'll learn deep dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and
hazards. You'll also put this knowledge to the test as you go on
four open water dives that range from 18 - 40 meters. This course
will be split between dives at Dosthill Quarry and Stoney Cove.
TDI Nitrox Diver
- 21st
September
This is an entry level
course for divers wishing to utilize enriched air nitrox as a
breathing gas. Little else has impacted recreational diving more
than the introduction of nitrox, allowing you to spend more time
underwater.
During this course, you
will learn the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for diving
with EAN 22 to EAN 40.
Your instructor will
also cover the equipment considerations, correct labelling and
analysing of enriched air nitrox.
The course follows an
easy to read and understand diver manual titled Understanding Nitrox
and water proof tables for quick on site reference.
Emergency First Response – Primary
Care -
11th October
Emergency First Response
(EFR) is the fastest-growing international CPR, Automatic External
Defibrillator (AED) and First Aid training organization.
Many divers take the
Emergency First Response courses to meet program prerequisites, such
as PADI Rescue Diver, or as preparation for becoming a PADI
Divemaster. However, most have also found the EFR program to be
important in every day life.
They have taken a
significant step in emergency preparedness, and feel confident that
they can provide care should an emergency situation arise.
TDI Advanced Nitrox &
Decompression Procedures (Combined Course) -
27th, 28th September and 5th October
The
TDI Advanced Nitrox Course qualifies divers to use enriched air
nitrox from EAN 21 through EAN 100 to a depth of 40 metres/130 feet
during dives that do not require staged decompression. Often taught
in conjunction with the TDI Decompression Procedures course, this
can be considered the foundation of your technical diving career.
Advanced Nitrox is also a great course for those wanting to extend
their bottom times in shallower depths such as research divers, and
is a must for SCR or CCR divers.
The
TDI Decompression Procedures course prepares you for planned staged
decompression diving. With a maximum operating depth of 45m/150
feet, this course is your first step beyond the normal sport diving
limits.
As
a combined course you will cover - Dive planning, Oxygen tracking,
Blending methods, Kit set-up, Equipment requirements, Decompression
techniques, Decompression breathing gases, Gas management,
Contingency planning.
You
will develop a number of new skills and, more importantly, vastly
improve the skills you already have.
The
minimum prerequisite of nitrox diver is required for this course.
Equipment Speciality Course
- 2nd October - Evening
Whether it's a regulator
problem, a wet suit tear or a broken mask strap, the Equipment
Specialist course can help.
This Specialty course
prepares you for the basic equipment maintenance, care and
adjustments you'll encounter every day. In addition, you'll get the
valuable background on equipment repair and purchase, making you
better able to protect your investment.
You will actually save
money by learning how to avoid costly problems and showing you
the solutions to common equipment malfunctions.
During your PADI
Equipment Specialist program, you'll familiarize yourself with the
operation and maintenance of your personal equipment.
Your instructor will also
provide the opportunity to review new or unfamiliar dive equipment.
Rescue
Diver Course
-
1st & 2nd November
Rewarding and fun – that
best describes the PADI Rescue Diver course.
This course will expand
your knowledge and experience level: Rescue Divers learn to look
beyond themselves and consider the safety and well being of other
divers.
Although this course is
serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence.
This course is split
between pool sessions, theory sessions and one day open water.
