What do I need to start?
You must already
have the PADI Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying
certification from another training organization) and be 15 years
old (12 for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver).
Is there a great deal more theory work to be
completed?
No, the emphasis is
very much placed upon the diving!
There is a little home
study, completing the knowledge reviews in the PADI Adventures In
Diving manual for the relevant dives you will complete. This,
however, is far from onerous and will prepare you for the dives you
will conduct.
What will I do?
The Advanced Open Water
Diver Course consists of five dives comprising a Deep dive, an
Underwater Navigation dive and three elective adventure dives.
Each of the dives completed may be credited towards the
corresponding PADI Specialty Diver course and therefore counts
towards you Master Scuba Diver Qualification, the ultimate
recreational diver rating.
Adventure Dive
options include:
Altitude Diving,
AWARE-Fish Identification, Boat Diving, Deep Diving, Diver
Propulsion Vehicle use, Drift Diving, Dry-Suit Diving, Multilevel
and Computer Diving, Night Diving, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search
and Recovery, Underwater Nature Study, Underwater Navigation,
Underwater Photography, Underwater Videography and Wreck Diving
Each Adventure
Dive in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course may credit toward
the first dive of the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver course
How much will it cost?
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course is available from £195.
This includes all manuals and materials necessary for your
successful completion of the course.
All equipment required for the course is provided.
When can I start?
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course course is run over a
single weekend or two Sundays - check out the
course calendar
for commencement dates.
Where can I go from here?
Challenge yourself with the
PADI Rescue Diver Course.
